Morocco’s water reserves have reached 4.65 billion cubic meters (m³), nearly one billion more than the same time last year as of January 30, 2025.

The northern dams have seen the most benefit, with substantial inflows reported.

Dams in the Loukkos Basin have received over 860 million m³ of water, reaching a filling rate of more than 45%.

The Acharif Al Idrissi and Chefchaouen dams have exceeded 79% capacity.

The recent rainfall also caused severe flooding in Tanger, with torrential rains submerging streets and disrupting traffic. The Idriss I Dam in the Fès-Meknès region received 1.32 million m³ in just 24 hours, raising its filling rate to 24.2%, bringing its total to 273.8 million m³.

Meanwhile, the Ahmed El Hansali Dam in Béni Mellal-Khénifra gained 0.54 million m³, increasing its filling rate to 5%, with a current reserve of 33.3 million m³.
