The overall filling rate of Moroccan dams has reached 68.60 percent, with a total storage of 11.068 billion cubic meters, compared to the same day last year (August 18, 2025), when they were only 34.49 percent full, equivalent to approximately 5.872 billion cubic meters.

The Sebou River stands out as the largest contributor to Morocco’s water reserves, holding 4.381 billion cubic meters and achieving a filling rate of 81.59 percent, an increase from 48.03 percent on August 18, 2025.

The Loukkos River has also seen significant improvement, with its filling rate jumping from just 10.43 percent in August of last year to 60.45 percent this year, totalling over 3.024 billion cubic meters; its water reserves have reached 1.589 billion cubic meters, representing a filling rate of 81.24 percent, compared to 50.74 percent last year.

The Bouregreg River experienced a notable increase, with its overall filling rate rising to 80.65 percent and total reserves exceeding 1.188 billion cubic meters, up from 46.60 percent during the same period last year.

The Ministry of Equipment and Water revealed that the overall filling rate in the Moulouya River has more than doubled, reaching 57.73 percent, equivalent to a water reserve of 404.97 million cubic meters, compared to 27.75 percent recorded last year.

In contrast, the filling rates of the Draa-Oued Noun River (32.73 percent) and the Ziz-Kher-Ghriss River (40.96 percent) are cause for concern, particularly for the latter, which recorded a filling rate of nearly 48 percent last year.
