The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has announced that a confirmed case of Monkeypox (Mpox) was recorded in Morocco on Thursday.

In a statement received by Hespress, the ministry explained that the case was detected through the health protocol in place since the onset of the global health alert on Mpox, but did not give additional details on the circumstances of the case.

The patient is receiving necessary medical care at a specialized medical center in Marrakech and is in a stable condition that does not warrant concern.

According to the ministry, the patient is receiving appropriate medical care in line with established health procedures and is under close medical supervision to ensure their condition remains stable.

Health isolation measures and medical follow-ups have been implemented according to national and international health standards.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has assured that it will continue to update the national public regularly on any developments regarding the health situation, as it has been since the beginning of this global health alert. The ministry urged citizens to rely on official sources for accurate information and to avoid spreading rumors or unverified information, while adhering to recommended preventive measures such as regular handwashing, avoiding direct contact with infected or suspected individuals, and maintaining personal hygiene.
