Starbucks and H&M set to leave Morocco market

Starbucks and H&M set to leave Morocco market
Friday 1 December 2023 - 11:57

Two major international brands, H&M and Starbucks, are set to leave Morocco on December 15th. The announcement has created a climate of suspicion in Casablanca’s business community, as the two brands employ hundreds of Moroccans.

The two brands have been the target of a boycott by Moroccans in the wake of Israel’s recent aggression against the Gaza Strip. The boycotters allege that the two brands are financially supporting Israel in its war against Palestinians.

However, the compactly detaining both brand licences in the Kingdom justified its decision to leave saying: “the market is no longer attractive”for their businesses.

Good for the people of Morocco, that’ll teach these companies a lesson. $$$ is the way to change their stance on freedom of Palestinian people then they will pressure their governments. So I commend the good people of Morocco for their courage and noble position. Free Palestine ??.
