An economic partnership agreement aimed at bringing together the Moroccan and Congolese business community was signed between the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIS) of the region of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra and that of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Under this agreement, the two parties express their common desire to establish an economic partnership to discover the economic potential of both countries and highlight the assets and business opportunities in the Kingdom of Morocco and the DRC.
As part of its openness to African countries, the CCIS Rabat-Salé-Kenitra has contributed to the creation of the CCIS of the DRC in order to support trade between the two countries and promote the sharing of experiences and expertise between economic operators, said the President of the CCIS Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Hassan Sakhi.
The visit last February of an important Congolese economic delegation had led to the establishment of a legal framework for partnership between the two consular chambers, recalled Sakhi, adding that both parties aspire, through this agreement, to strengthen the exchange of experiences and business missions, as well as sharing business opportunities.
The training is also one of the pillars of this protocol, he continued in a speech on this occasion, noting that it will be proceeding shortly to the establishment of a joint action plan in the short and medium term to further concretize the consular cooperation.
He also noted that Morocco is a strategic country for the DRC because of its economic growth and for the many investment opportunities it offers to Congolese companies, not to mention its strategic positioning as a gateway to Europe.
In this regard, the president of the CCIS-RSK invited the Moroccan economic operators to discover the economic potentialities and the real opportunities of investment which abound in the DRC, and to go ahead to undertake actions likely to develop the business partnerships and the commercial exchanges between the two countries.
The signing of this agreement is the culmination of several joint efforts and consultation meetings, said for his part the President of the CCIS of the DRC, Jean Robert Isifua Bokumbe, highlighting the role played by the Chamber of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra in the creation of the CCIS of the DRC in terms of supervision, coaching and support.
Created on April 14, he noted, the CCIS of the DRC aspires like its Moroccan counterpart to promote the business environment in the DRC and encourage foreign investors to develop activity in key sectors of the economy. This event took place in the presence of the ambassador of the DRC in Morocco and, by video conference, the ambassador of the Kingdom in the DRC.
