Morocco’s national team doctor, Abderrazak Hifti, said on Thursday that Achraf Hakimi’s injury suffered during the game against Croatia is not a cause for concern.
“The medical examinations have shown that the injury is not serious,” he told the press.
“Hakimi was hit in the thigh, and is required to undergo further tests on Friday to make sure about his state and to make the appropriate decision regarding his participation in the next game against Belgium,” added the doctor.
The national team’s doctor further stated that Noussair Mazraoui will also take medical examinations to determine his injury’s nature, after he was forced to leave the field during the game against Croatia.
“Other examinations will be conducted to decide on his participation against Belgium,” he added.
Overall, the players are doing well and all took part in the training session on Thursday, according to the same source.
Morocco is set to face off against Belgium on Sunday at 2 p.m., and then Canada on December 1st at 4 p.m.
The Atlas Lions have recently tied with Croatia 0-0 in the first Group F game, which took place on Wednesday.
