Senegalese President Macky Sall regrets the representation of Morocco’s absence from the opening session of the 8th edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) held in Tunisia.

The Senegalese President describes Morocco as a prominent member of the African Union in a speech he gave this morning, where he expressed that they “regret that this meeting was held in the absence of Morocco.”

“We hope that this problem will find a permanent solution in the future for the smooth continuation of the event and our partnership,” added Macky Sall.

A diplomatic crisis erupted between Morocco and Tunisia on the sidelines of the Tokyo Summit on African Development “TICAD 8”, after the participation of the separatist polisario in the meeting was confirmed, in addition to Brahim Ghali receiving an official welcome from Tunisian President Kais Saied.
