Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi has been named among the 26 finalists for the 2026 FIFPRO Men’s World 11, placing the Paris Saint-Germain defender in contention for a place in the annual team selected exclusively by professional footballers.
FIFPRO announced the shortlist on Monday, November 2, following a vote involving 19,806 male professional players from 73 countries.
Hakimi is among eight defenders nominated, alongside Virgil van Dijk, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Nuno Mendes, Pau Cubarsí, Marc Cucurella and Dayot Upamecano.
The Moroccan international’s nomination follows a successful period with PSG, where he contributed to the club’s domestic and European achievements.
The selection recognizes performances between August 4, 2025, and July 19, 2026, covering club and international competitions. Eligible players were required to have appeared in at least 30 official matches.
Hakimi faces competition from some of football’s most established names, with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal among the attacking finalists.
Midfield nominees include Jude Bellingham, Pedri, Rodri, Bruno Fernandes and PSG teammate Vitinha.
