Raja Casablanca have parted ways with Spanish coach Paco Jemez after just seven matches, citing disappointing results, performances and a lack of progress since the start of the season.

The club said Monday that its sporting committee and management had reviewed the team’s performances and concluded that a change in technical leadership was necessary to revive its campaign.

Jemez recorded two wins, four draws and one defeat, with Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Renaissance Berkane proving his final match in charge. Raja said the results had fallen short of its sporting objectives but did not disclose the terms of the separation or name a replacement.

The statement also made no reference to sporting director Rogério Matias, who has faced criticism from supporters over recruitment decisions and the team’s performances.

Raja said it remained committed to its sporting project as the club prepares to appoint a new head coach.
