Ferry services between Tangier and the Spanish port of Tarifa fully resumed on Monday morning after several days of cancellations caused by rough sea conditions, port authorities said.
The Port of Tarifa confirmed that all scheduled crossings linking Tarifa with Tangier City Port were operating normally on Monday, with no further cancellations reported.
The resumption follows an improvement in weather conditions and calmer seas in the Strait of Gibraltar, allowing medium-sized passenger ferries to safely return to service on the busy maritime route.
Ferry traffic in the area had been disrupted over the past ten days due to severe weather linked to Storm Imlia, which brought strong winds and high waves, forcing repeated suspensions of crossings, particularly on Sunday.
The Tangier–Tarifa route is a key link between Morocco and southern Spain, widely used by commuters, tourists and travelers transiting the Strait of Gibraltar.
