Morocco’s airports authority has begun rolling out a nationwide campaign to turn airport terminals into themed fan zones ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Office National des Aéroports (ONDA) said on Monday.
ONDA said the initiative, developed with the local organising committee and the Confederation of African Football, introduces large visual installations such as giant arches, trophy replicas, immersive corridors and interactive supporter areas across major airports. The rollout coincides with preparations for the CAF Awards ceremony scheduled for Nov. 19 in Rabat.
The campaign aims to make airports the first point of contact with the tournament atmosphere for arriving and departing passengers. ONDA said the effort reflects its broader strategy to prioritise the passenger experience, implemented in coordination with the Interior Ministry, national police, gendarmerie, customs and the Transport Ministry to ensure smooth and secure flows.
The installations will remain in place through the tournament, which runs from Dec. 21, 2025, to Jan. 18, 2026, supporting increased passenger traffic before, during and after the event.
