Morocco is set to host home matches for nine African national teams during the opening window of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers because their domestic stadiums do not meet Confederation of African Football standards.
Niger, Lesotho, Central African Republic, Liberia, Benin, Togo, Guinea, Madagascar and Somalia are expected to stage designated home fixtures in Morocco between September 21 and October 6.
Several are also expected to return for the final qualifying window in March 2027, extending Morocco’s role as a neutral venue for teams without CAF-approved grounds.
CAF has separately approved nine Moroccan stadiums for the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup. They include Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, the major stadiums in Marrakech, Tangier and Fez, Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca and grounds in El Jadida, Safi, Oujda and Meknes.
The 2027 AFCON finals will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda during the summer.
