Morocco’s security chief Abdellatif Hammouchi met Monday with China’s ambassador to the kingdom, Yo Jinsong, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation on security and intelligence matters.
The meeting, held at the headquarters of Morocco’s Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) and the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) in Rabat, highlighted both nations’ shared interest in deepening coordination on key security issues.
According to a statement from Moroccan authorities, the talks focused on expanding cooperation in combating transnational crime and enhancing coordination ahead of the 93rd General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), set to take place in Marrakech from November 24 to 27.
Ambassador Yo praised the “exemplary level of security coordination and mutual support” between Morocco and China, expressing Beijing’s readiness to further develop collaboration with Moroccan security services.
The meeting, officials said, reflects Morocco’s commitment to strengthening international and regional security partnerships and adapting to the fast-evolving challenges posed by organized crime and terrorism.
It also underscores Morocco’s growing role as a regional hub for security cooperation, with the North African kingdom preparing to host senior law enforcement officials from around the world later this month for the Interpol assembly.
