An investigating judge at the Court of First Instance in El Jadida has questioned seven doctors as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged scheme involving staged traffic accidents to obtain financial compensation, according to Moroccan weekly newspaper Al Ousboue Assahafi.
The doctors, including women practicing in the city, were questioned based on reports prepared by the National Judicial Police Brigade in Casablanca and forwarded to the public prosecutor’s office, the publication reported.
The investigation seeks to deepen inquiries into the case and establish any potential responsibilities, as dozens of people are being prosecuted over suspected involvement in fabricating traffic accidents.
According to the weekly, investigators are examining allegations that medical certificates and expert assessments specifying periods of incapacity were issued to individuals suspected of staging accidents.
Statements reportedly made by some people questioned by judicial police included information suggesting that periods of incapacity had been overstated in medical certificates submitted in several cases.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations have not been established in court.
