Outgoing Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch marked the end of his five-year tenure on Saturday with a message of gratitude to King Mohammed VI, highlighting what he described as his government’s achievements and pledging that his team had worked with dedication to serve the country and meet Moroccans’ expectations.

In a post published on his personal social media accounts, Akhannouch thanked the king for his confidence and guidance, while expressing appreciation to everyone who contributed to the government’s work.

Akhannouch described his appointment as head of government as a great honor, saying his five years in office represented more than an institutional responsibility. He characterized the period as a shared national undertaking aimed at building a stronger and better Morocco.

He also recalled the scale of the responsibility his government assumed amid public expectations and the challenges facing the country, saying it had worked with patience, determination and a spirit of teamwork under the king’s guidance.

According to Akhannouch, his government brought major projects into implementation, delivered initiatives that had been awaited for years and launched programs benefiting millions of citizens. He said these efforts were intended to bring about positive change and address national priorities.

Reflecting on his record, Akhannouch acknowledged that there were other objectives he had hoped to accomplish. Nevertheless, he said he ended his tenure feeling proud of the government’s work and with a clear conscience, insisting that his team had served the country with complete dedication and sincerity.

His message presented the outgoing government’s term as a period marked by challenges and constraints, but also by efforts to advance projects with social and economic implications.

Akhannouch concluded by congratulating Fatima Zahra Mansouri on assuming the responsibility of leading the government and wishing her and the new cabinet success in their duties and in continuing Morocco’s development.

He also called for continued efforts in the country’s interest under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, expressing hope that the next phase would bring further progress for Morocco and its people.
