The generalization of preschool education in Morocco has reached 83% during the 2024-2025 school year, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports Mohamed Saad Berrada said on Monday in Rabat.

Speaking during a sitting for oral questions at the House of Representatives, Berrada emphasized that the Ministry aims to fully generalize pre-school education, currently benefitting some one million pupils.

He pointed out that 50,000 educators work in pre-school education, including 20,000 in rural areas, stressing that they have been selected according to specific criteria based mainly on a baccalaureate degree.

They are also selected based on proximity of their residence to the schools, while benefiting from training that enhances their skills and competencies, the Minister continued, noting that these educators earn minimum wage and are registered with the National Social Security Fund.
