To encourage business collaborations between the two countries, Moroccan and Egyptian sector actors will meet for two days starting this Tuesday in Casablanca to discuss the agri-food and packaging industries.
The Food Export Council, the Egyptian Export Council for Printing, Packaging, Paper, Literary and Artistic Works, the Konzept Company, and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morocco (CFCIM), will all be taking part in the discussion.
Representatives of nearly thirty Egyptian companies came to Casablanca to present their products, meet importers, and distributors, and assess possible synergies with their future Moroccan partners.
Many product segments will be represented, among them frozen fruits and vegetables, pasta, juices and dairy products, oils, butter, food additives, honey and jams, sauces, cheeses, pastes, juices, oils, fruit toppings, chocolates, creams, herbs, spices, dates, sugars, canned food, and dried fruits.
At this bilateral conversation, topics covered include program contracts in the agri-food industry, the state of the packaging sector in Morocco as well as the changing expectations and needs of buyers of agri-food products.
Alaa El Wakeel, a board member of the Food Industries Export Council, said that this is a unique opportunity to highlight “the excellence of our commercial relations and an opportunity for Egyptian companies to meet key players in the Moroccan agri-food sector, present their products and explore new markets.”
“We hope that this meeting will be the starting point for new long-term collaborations and we look forward to seeing the positive results that this business meeting will generate for all participants,” stated El Wakeel
The Egyptian ambassador Yasser Othman is also among the officials present at the event.
