State of health emergency extended in Morocco for another month
Thursday 29 December 2022 - 13:25

The Council of Government on Thursday, extended  the state of health emergency throughout the Moroccan territory.

The extension will last until January 31, as part of efforts to combat the outbreak of Covid-19.

Morocco has  experienced the fifth COVID-19 wave this December.

The health emergency decree grants the government authority to enforce covid-19 related decisions without consulting with either parliament or its appointed health committee on Covid.

Theoretically, police and civil workers could still stop citizens and control vaccine passes in public spaces, like restaurants and cafes.
