Morocco decided on Thursday to extend the health state of emergency until June 30, said government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas during the press briefing.
The state of emergency will therefore last from May 31 to June 30 until further notice, as part of efforts to contain the spread of the virus nationwide.
Baitas further stated that it was agreed on to implement the state of emergency throughout the country in line with the Interior Ministry order.
COVID-19 infections are increasing in Morocco, with 140 new infections reported on average each day, representing 1% of the peak, according to Reuters’ latest COVID tracker released on Thursday.
During this month, several countries around the world reported monkeypox cases, while Morocco still didn’t record any case until now.
