Starbucks is expected to exit Russia permanently, closing all of the brand’s 130 franchises, said international media outlets on May 23.

The US chains have already temporarily closed all of the coffee shops since the outbreak of the Russian offensive in Ukraine that began on February 24.

Starbucks’ move comes as part of imposed sanctions on Russia, following the ongoing crisis.

Russia launched military operations, following worries that the neighboring country might join NATO.

Several countries around the world banned temporarily their services in Russia, even permanently, the case for Starbucks and McDonald’s.
