More than half of Moroccans claim to exercise regularly, according to the results of a questionnaire launched by the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) as part of the development of its opinion on the economy of sport.
The results of the questionnaire show that more than half of the respondents practice sports regularly, and around 12% say they have participated in sports competitions,”, indicates the ESEC.
30% of the total respondents say they rarely practice sports, according to the results of the questionnaire launched March 4 to 27, 2022.
64% of the respondents say athletics should be the primary target of public policies, followed by football at 60% and basketball at 43%.
only 21% and 8% of respondents consider that equestrian sports and golf respectively are sports to be targeted by policies.
65.5% of the respondents say that they do not attend sporting events due to security problems in the stadiums, indicates the ESEC.
The Council also noted that 31% of all respondents also believe that lack of interest in sports is one of the reasons that prevent Moroccans from attending sporting events.
