The first Israeli-Moroccan symposium on water, agriculture and fish farming will be held on March 16 and 17 in Ait Melloul, south of Morocco.
The event is organized by the Morocco-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the Souss-Massa region.
This symposium aims to facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge between professionals from both countries, and will report on developments in the sector of fruit and vegetables and fish farming, said the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Morocco-Israel CCIMI in a statement.
The symposium will be held at the Agro-veterinary Institute (IAV) Hassan II in Ait Melloul. It will focus on the issue of water and the use of new technologies for the optimization of irrigation, a vital issue for the sector, the same source added.
The event will be attended by more than 250 entrepreneurs, officials and representatives of companies in the sector, startups, laboratories, and research institutes from Morocco and Israel.
This action will allow producers in the region of Souss-Massa, where 85% of Morocco’s agricultural exports come from, to familiarize themselves with the new orientations of the sector and to explore potential partnerships in research and development, between universities and producers.
These producers will also be able, through this symposium, to identify joint opportunities with Agro Tech startups and potential investors from Israel, notes the CCIMI.
