Royal Air Maroc (RAM) plans to expand its passenger fleet to 80 aircraft by October 2027, up from 71 currently, as Morocco’s national airline advances a long-term expansion program targeting 200 aircraft by 2037.

According to documents accompanying the Transport and Logistics Ministry’s draft 2027 budget, RAM increased its overall fleet from 60 aircraft at the beginning of 2026 to 73 in October, adding 14 aircraft while retiring one.

The airline plans to introduce 15 additional aircraft in 2027, including 13 Boeing 737 MAX jets and two Embraer E190-E1 aircraft, while withdrawing six ATR aircraft from service.

The expansion forms part of RAM’s 2023–2037 government program agreement, which targets 200 aircraft and 32 million passengers annually by 2037.

The strategy also calls for more than 100 new international destinations, expanding the airline’s network to over 160 direct international routes.

RAM plans to strengthen connections between Moroccan cities and major international tourism markets, including direct flights bypassing its Casablanca hub.

New routes are expected to operate particularly from Marrakech, Dakhla, Rabat, Agadir and Tangier.

The airline also aims to capitalize on its membership in the oneworld alliance, whose network covers more than 900 airports across over 170 countries and territories.
