Morocco’s government has called on public-sector and private-sector employers to facilitate employees’ participation in the country’s Sept. 23 parliamentary elections while ensuring the normal operation of public services.

In a statement issued under Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch’s directive, the government urged heads of public administrations, directors-general and managers of public institutions and state-owned companies, as well as heads of local authorities, to provide the necessary arrangements for staff and employees to exercise their right to vote.

The government said the measures should allow public-sector workers to fulfill their “national duty” and exercise their personal voting rights while ensuring that public facilities and services continue operating normally.

The appeal also extended to the private sector.

The prime minister called on private-sector institutions and companies to take the necessary measures to enable their employees to vote on election day, describing the move as part of efforts to reinforce civic values.

The parliamentary elections, which will determine the members of Morocco’s House of Representatives, are scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 23.

The government’s appeal was issued in accordance with Prime Minister’s Circular No. 2026/14, dated Sept. 1, 2026.
