OCP Group is showcasing its integrated approach to agriculture and sustainability at the SIAM 2026, emphasizing the central role of phosphate in food security and agricultural productivity.
The Morocco-based company, founded in 1920 and operating in more than 350 markets worldwide, positions itself as a global leader in plant nutrition and phosphate-based solutions. With more than 17,000 employees, the group is leveraging its phosphate reserves to develop tailored fertilizers and industrial products aimed at improving agricultural performance.
At this year’s exhibition, OCP’s pavilion presents a comprehensive narrative linking the agricultural value chain, from mining to livestock, through the use of phosphorus. The display underscores how soil fertility, crop quality and animal feed are interconnected, reflecting a broader shift toward integrated farming systems.
“The production of animal protein cannot be separated from the rest of the agricultural system,” the group said in its presentation, highlighting how feed quality depends on crop yields, which in turn rely on soil health and precise nutrient management.
OCP has increasingly focused on “precision fertilization,” moving away from standardized input models toward customized solutions tailored to local soil and climate conditions. This approach is based on the “4R” principle: applying the right nutrient, at the right rate, at the right time and in the right place.
Through its subsidiary OCP Nutricrops, the group develops fertilizers designed to optimize yields while reducing environmental impact. The strategy aims to improve efficiency, limit waste and preserve soil health, as concerns grow over resource use and sustainability in agriculture.
The company is also active in animal nutrition through its Specialty Products & Solutions unit, which produces feed phosphates under the Phosfeed brand. These products are intended to support livestock growth, health and productivity.
Beyond production, OCP is investing $13 billion between 2023 and 2027 to expand low-carbon energy, water and ammonia capabilities, part of a broader effort to build a circular and sustainable industrial model.
The group says its approach seeks to balance rising global food demand with environmental constraints, promoting higher agricultural output while reducing emissions and preserving natural resources.
OCP’s initiatives also extend to farmer support programs, including soil analysis and training efforts that have reached tens of thousands of farmers. Through these programs, the company aims to improve agricultural practices, boost yields and support rural development.
As global food systems face increasing pressure from climate change and population growth, OCP is positioning its phosphate-based solutions as a key lever in strengthening both agricultural resilience and food security.
