The United Arab Emirates said on Saturday its air defences “successfully intercepted a new wave of Iranian missiles” launched toward its territory, adding the interceptions were handled “with high efficiency” and caused no damage, according to a Defence Ministry statement carried by state linked media.

The ministry said fragments from the intercepted missiles fell in several parts of Abu Dhabi, including Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, Bani Yas, Mohammed bin Zayed City and Al Falah, and confirmed there were no injuries in those locations.

It said the armed forces remain on full readiness to address threats and stressed that the “safety of citizens, residents and visitors is a top priority that cannot be compromised.”
