Rabat is set to host the 2025 CAF Awards on Wednesday evening, bringing together a wide roster of African football legends and former international stars. The ceremony, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. local time, marks one of the continent’s most prominent annual sporting events.

Among the high-profile guests expected in the Moroccan capital are former national team standout Mustapha Hadji, Egypt’s Shikabala, Algeria’s Rabah Madjer, Ivory Coast’s Gervinho, Mali’s Mohamed Sissoko and Cameroon’s Idriss Kameni, along with retired icons Patrick M’Boma and Taribo West. The event will also feature leading figures of African women’s football, including South Africa’s Janine van Wyk and Nigeria’s Desire Oparanozie.

CAF says the gathering highlights continuity between generations and underscores the growing prominence of the women’s game. Morocco enters the ceremony with strong nominations across categories, including Achraf Hakimi for men’s player of the year, multiple youth-team contenders, and several finalists in coaching, club and goalkeeping awards.
