Persistent rainfall across Morocco has marginally increased national dam reserves, lifting the overall filling rate from 30.82 percent last Wednesday to 31.06 percent at the start of the week, according to data from the Ministry of Equipment and Water.
The strongest gains were recorded in Taroudant, where the Abdelmoumen dam collected 12.4 million cubic meters, reaching 10.3 percent capacity. The Moulay Abdellah dam added 7.9 million cubic meters and approached 48 percent.
Other basins showed smaller improvements. The Al Massira dam in Settat, a key reservoir in the Oum Er Rbia basin, remains critically low at 2.7 percent despite a 2.41 million cubic meter rise.
In the Tensift basin, rains pushed the Sidi Mohamed Ben Slimane El Jazouli dam close to full capacity, while dams in Essaouira and Chichaoua also gained.
National storage reached 5.2 billion cubic meters on Monday, roughly one third of total capacity, underscoring persistent hydrological imbalances after successive drought years.
