Unsettled weather is expected to continue across Morocco this week, with rain and thunderstorms of varying intensity forecast in several regions, alongside a risk of hail and possible snowfall on the peaks of the Middle Atlas, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology.
The directorate urged residents in areas affected by thunderstorms to exercise caution and avoid crossing riverbeds, streams and low-lying areas that could experience water accumulation or sudden flooding during heavy rainfall.
On Tuesday, thunderstorms are expected in the southern provinces, while light rain or scattered showers are forecast in the Gharb region, Tangier and Loukkos.
Dense low clouds are also expected over the Oriental region, the southeast and the central inland plains, with localized fog or drizzle possible, particularly in the morning and at night.
Moderate to strong wind gusts are forecast in the southern provinces, while temperatures are expected to rise across most of the kingdom.
Unstable conditions are expected to persist on Wednesday, with thunderstorms forecast in central and southern areas. Hail is also possible in the southern provinces, the Anti-Atlas, Chiadma and Souss regions.
From Thursday through the beginning of next week, the weather is expected to remain unsettled, particularly in the Atlas Mountains, the Oriental region and the southeast, as well as locally in the southern provinces. Showers and other weather disturbances may occur depending on the area.
Moderate wind gusts are also expected at times in the southern provinces and along the central coast, while temperatures are forecast to rise slightly across most of Morocco.
