Morocco’s National Coordination of University Graduates with Disabilities has voiced frustration over what it described as ongoing delays in implementing constitutional and legal rights for people with disabilities, despite repeated official pledges.
In a statement, the group announced plans to escalate its protest through sit-ins, hunger strikes, and media outreach to demand dignity and inclusion.
The coalition’s core demands include direct recruitment into public service, full activation of the national disability card, accessible public institutions, free transport, and adequate health and social coverage.
It also called for raising annual recruitment quotas from 200 to 500 positions and enforcing the 7 percent hiring quota established in 2011.
An official from the Ministry of Solidarity said the government is committed to equity through Law 97.13 and related programs, while clarifying that direct hiring is no longer legally possible.
The ministry, the official added, continues to coordinate with other departments to expand inclusion, improve accessibility, and implement a unified disability card system.
