Seven people died and 25 others were injured in a serious bus accident today, Wednesday. The incident occurred when a bus overturned on National Road No. 1, between Agadir and Essaouira, near the Tamanar area.
Initial reports indicate that among the 25 injured, 17 have minor injuries, while eight are in serious condition. Two of those seriously injured are reported to be in a very critical state.
Health services in Essaouira, including staff from the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah Hospital, were immediately mobilized to care for the injured.
Local authorities, the Royal Gendarmerie, and Civil Protection services arrived at the scene. They supervised the transport of the injured to the hospital and the deceased to the morgue. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the fatal accident.
