With summer holidays approaching, TLScontact has implemented a new procedure for visa appointment bookings at its Casablanca center, starting in March 2025, a change that targets specific visa categories and aims to reduce abuse, particularly by third-party agencies.
The new system introduces a random appointment allocation for first-time applicants in categories such as cultural, scientific, professional, and family-related visas. Applicants must complete their application on the France-Visas website and wait for validation before being randomly selected for an appointment within 60 days.
TLScontact says this measure is designed to protect applicants from fraudulent practices and excessive fees charged by intermediaries. “Our goal is to ensure fair and equal access to appointments for all legitimate applicants,” the company stated.
Changes to service fees has take effect since March 10, with exemptions for spouses of French nationals and family members of EU citizens. However, children under six, who were previously exempt, will now need to pay these fees.
These updates aim to make the visa process more efficient and equitable, though their effectiveness in curbing fraud remains to be seen.
