Judicial Police are investigating the hacking of 4.2 billion centimes from accounts at Credit du Maroc executed by unknown individuals, involved a breach of the bank’s data.

According to Assabah newspaper, the fraudulent transactions occurred between last Thursday and Friday and were completed in less than 24 hours through rapid electronic transfers.

The misappropriated funds were traced to a bank account in Inzegan, from which they were withdrawn using data from a company linked to a Bank of Morocco branch in Tangier.

Initial findings indicate that the perpetrators established a fake company and opened a bank account in Inzegan, allowing them to access the bank’s automated data system and exploit the victim company’s information for the transfers.
