Morocco’s industrial producer prices rose 0.1% in September 2026, slowing from a 0.4% increase in August, as higher clothing manufacturing prices were partly offset by declines in metallurgy and food production, according to figures released Friday by the High Commission for Planning (HCP).
The increase, which excludes petroleum refining, was driven primarily by a 1.4% rise in clothing manufacturing prices, followed by a 0.6% increase in other non-metallic mineral products and a 0.1% rise in chemical manufacturing.
Meanwhile, producer prices declined 0.4% in metallurgy and 0.2% in food manufacturing, limiting the overall monthly increase.
Prices remained unchanged in extractive industries, electricity generation and distribution, and water production and distribution.
The September reading marks a slowdown in monthly producer price growth after August’s 0.4% increase, when chemical manufacturing and metallurgy recorded stronger price gains.
The producer price index measures prices received by manufacturers rather than those paid by consumers in shops.
