The Moroccan Association for Consumer Protection and Guidance has warned that training and recruitment centres in Marrakech are allegedly exploiting jobseekers by promising guaranteed employment contracts abroad in exchange for substantial payments.

The association said complaints it received revealed questionable recruitment practices, with some applicants paying for training and placement services only to have their visa applications or employment documents rejected by foreign consulates.

It warned that some operators use training centres and social media advertisements to promote overseas employment opportunities without providing legal guarantees.

The association urged jobseekers to verify the authorization of recruitment agencies before handing over money or personal documents.

It also pointed to the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC) as an official channel providing free employment placement services.

The organization called on authorities to increase inspections of unauthorized recruitment centres and enforce laws against illegal paid employment intermediation.
