Some 678,605 trainees on Wednesday head to the 2,250 vocational training centers across Morocco, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, announced on Wednesday.
This new year marks a decisive step in the implementation of the strategic projects of the Royal Roadmap for Vocational Training, with a significant increase in staff and the opening of new centers, Sekkouri told the press following the official kickoff of the 2024-2025 training year in the central city of Mekens.
To support this momentum, twenty-four new centers are opening their doors, including the planned Cities of Trades and Skills, thus bringing the overall capacity of these centers to 21,865 trainees, he pointed out.
He noted that as part of social support for trainees, particularly those from rural areas, the ministry also strengthened its boarding school system with four new facilities, bringing the overall number to 143 facilities with an accommodation capacity of 19,085 trainees.
In the health sector, a key pillar of socio-economic development, and in accordance with the Royal Vision for universal access to quality care, the professional training system was strengthened, the minister stressed, pointing out that the number of training centers in the field of health professions stands at 347, including 326 private ones, offering training to 52,791 students in 38 specialized sectors.
“This effort illustrates Morocco’s commitment to training qualified professionals to meet the growing needs of the sector,” he noted.
