Celebrating its 5th anniversary, the Al Moutmir initiative has decided to broaden its support services for farmers participating in various outreach and technology transfer programs. The primary objective is to promote a portfolio of products and services while transferring good agricultural practices based on tailored technical routes.
In line with this goal, Al Moutmir, a model of agricultural development led by UM6P and its College of Agriculture, aims to expand its offerings for the 2023/2024 agricultural campaign, covering farmers in various regions across different agro-climatic zones.
The expansion includes demonstration platforms, direct seeding programs, and capacity-building initiatives.
The goal is to amplify the impact of the support provided to the accompanied farmers and implement diverse technical routes to enhance agriculture’s resilience to climate change, targeting over 115,000 hectares.

Al Moutmir is introducing a customized support package for farmers, particularly small-scale ones, comprising demonstration platforms, crucial for adopting good agricultural practices throughout the crop cycle.
These platforms significantly impact vegetative aspects, water stress resistance, yield, grain quality, straw yield, and rationalization of fertilizer and water consumption.
For the current agricultural campaign, Al Moutmir has increased the number of demonstration platforms for accompanied farmers to create a more significant impact.
To capitalize on the insights from demonstration platforms and facilitate sharing these insights with the ecosystem, Al Moutmir’s team has introduced a digital application called “Agritrial.”

This application enables the digitalization of agronomic management for demonstration plots, providing real-time information on platform evolution.
This information is made available to the scientific, academic, and economic ecosystem and is discussed annually during the Al Moutmir Open Innovation Lab symposium with various industry stakeholders.
In the current agricultural campaign, Al Moutmir aims to expand the coverage of its direct seeding program by an additional 11,500 hectares, bringing the overall covered area since the program’s inception to over 36,500 hectares, spanning 130 localities and 26 provinces across different agro-climatic zones.
This expansion is possible through the mobilization of over 70 Professional Organizations (POs) and more than 4,300 beneficiary farmers.
The program targets major annual crop families in the country, including cereals and legumes, along with other high-potential crops such as oilseeds.
For this campaign, over 584 dedicated demonstration platforms for direct seeding of cereals and legumes are planned.
A customized training program is being implemented to accompany farmers, female farmers, cooperatives, and young leaders.
Adhering farmers benefit from the guidance and support of a team of experienced experts and agronomists, involving regular visits, targeted and adapted training, and on-field schools to witness, learn, and practice techniques based on solid scientific foundations.
