Vegan raw food influencer dies of malnourishment at 39

A 39-year-old Russian vegan influencer has died after years of following a raw food diet. Zhanna Samsonova, who went by Zhanna D’Art online, reportedly died on July 21 after seeking medical treatment during a tour in Southeast Asia.

Samsonova had been following an all-raw vegan diet for at least a decade, according to her Instagram posts. She often promoted raw foods on her social media accounts, and she had a large following of people who were interested in her diet and lifestyle.

However, her diet may have ultimately led to her death. According to local media reports, Samsonova was severely malnourished when she died. She weighed just 60 pounds, and her organs were failing.
