Bank Al Maghrib held this Tuesday the last meeting of its board of the year, deciding to raise the key interest rate to 2.50%.

This decision, explains BAM, aims to prevent any disengagement of inflation expectations and encourage the return of inflation to rates in line with the objective of price stability.

“The Board decided to raise the policy rate by 50 basis points to 2.50%. It will continue to closely monitor the economic situation and inflationary pressures, both domestically and internationally,” the Central Bank said.
