Fouzi Lekjaa announced his official candidacy for the position of president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) on Monday, said Soccer media on Twitter.
So far, Lekjaa is the only candidate, running for his third term in the same position.
The current incumbent of the FRMF presidency and Minister Delegate in Charge of the Budget officially submitted his candidacy for the position on June 4, as the next elective general assembly of the FRMF is expected to take place on June 24.
Lekjaa has been President of the FRMF since 2014, but was recently elected to his Ministerial position after Morocco’s latest legislative election.
He is also a member of the board of the International football federation (FIFA), and in July 2017, he became 2nd Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Back in March 2021, Lekjaa was voted 4th Vice-President of CAF.
