Lekjaa says Hassan II stadium will host 2030 World Cup final

Fouzi Lekjaa said Thursday that Hassan II stadium in Benslimane province would host the 2030 World Cup final, expressing hope that Morocco’s national team would reach the match.

Speaking in Bouznika, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) political bureau member reiterated his assertion while referring to Spanish newspaper Marca’s coverage of the contest over the final’s venue.

He said King Mohammed VI had directed the choice of Benslimane as the stadium’s location, describing the decision as an honor for the province.

Reflecting on his work in football, Lekjaa recalled his disappointment after Morocco’s defeat against France, saying the ambition had been to reach the final. He urged Moroccans to share responsibility for making the 2030 tournament a success and benefiting from its impact.

The remarks also addressed housing and relocation disputes in Benslimane, including Mansouria and surrounding areas.

Lekjaa pledged to begin reviewing residents’ cases before the elections, saying housing assistance should not depend on votes or electoral considerations.

Any family required to move should gain better housing conditions, he said, promising to follow the cases personally and work toward residents’ stability.

He said he knew the problems involved and would approach each case as though it concerned his own circumstances.
