Morocco’s coach Vahid Halilhodzic is expected to hold a meeting with international winger Hakim Ziyech in the upcoming days in the UK, wrote Soccer media on Twitter on May 18.
“Ziyech refuses to hold talks with the national coach, even though everyone tries to convince him to attend the meeting, after it was delayed until the next week,” Moroccan sports journalist Taha Imani wrote on his Twitter.
“Everyone hopes the meeting to be held, but it is very difficult at the moment,” he added in his tweet.
The national coach has been dismissing Ziyech in recent sporting events, accusing him of disciplinary issues.
The 28-year-old Chelsea star had previously announced his retirement from national football back in February, after being ostracized in the wake of the dispute with the national team’s coach.
Halilhodzic’s move came after a meeting was held between the coach and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s president (FRMF) Fouzi Lekjaa.
FRMF’s president set up the condition to call up international players to the upcoming sporting events, namely Hakim Ziyech, Noussair Mazraoui, and Amine Harit, according to sports media.
Last Friday, the national coach met with international right-back Noussair Mazraoui, seemingly moving on from their previous disagreements.
Halilhodzic reportedly changed his stance towards Mazraoui, as he accepted to communicate with the player and resolve the dispute with him, in preparation for the upcoming Atlas Lions games.
