Hakim Ziyech scored a hat trick as Wydad AC came from behind to beat Hassania Agadir 3 2 on Saturday, lifting the Casablanca club provisionally into the top three of Morocco’s Botola Pro standings.
The Morocco international opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute before Hassania equalized four minutes later through Ismail Hrila.
Ziyech restored Wydad’s lead shortly after the break with another penalty awarded following a VAR review, then completed his hat trick in the 68th minute with a powerful strike after an individual run that effectively settled the match.
Hassania reduced the deficit late on through Abdellah Ait Brahim from a direct free kick in the 88th minute, but Wydad held on for a victory that continues the club’s push near the top of the table.
The win moves Wydad to 40 points, level with AS FAR and one point behind leaders MAS Fez, according to local media and match data. Hassania Agadir remain 12th on 20 points.
Ziyech, who returned to Moroccan football with Wydad earlier this season after years in Europe with clubs including Chelsea and Ajax, has become central to the club’s domestic title ambitions and preparations ahead of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup.
