Acts of violence during the match of Raja of Casablanca against Al Ahly have led to heavy consequences for the Casablanca club, which has been sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

CAF blames Raja for not having been able to contain its supporters, authors of the violent acts, which are “far from the values advocated by the sport.”

It was during its match against Al Ahly, in the quarterfinals of the African Champions League.

The Casablanca club will play its 2 upcoming games without an audience, in addition to having to pay a $24,000 fine for the use of smoke, lasers and throwing bottles, as well as another $20,000 for failing to provide necessary security measures.

As for the Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB), it will have to pay a fine of $16,000 for the use of smoke, lasers, projectiles and thrown water bottles by its supporters during the match against Al Masry.
