Maroc Telecom Group totaled almost 76 million customers by the end of March 2022, up 3.6% compared to the same period last year, the national network operator stated in a recent press release.

The Group explained that this increase is mainly driven by the growth of the mobile customer base in Morocco and in its subsidiaries.

In Morocco, the Mobile customer base totaled 19.9 million customers by the end of March 2022, up 2.8% year-on-year. The Fixed-line customer base fell by 2.6% to almost 2.0 million lines over the same period.

The broadband customer base reached 1.7 million, driven by the expansion of the FTTH customer base (+47%), which partly offset the loss of ADSL customers.

Internationally, the Mobile customer base reached 51,786,000 customers, spread over the Ivory Coast (10,727,000), Burkina Faso (10,673,000), Mali (9,263,000), Chad (5,318,000), Benin (5,261,000), Niger (3,202,000), Mauritania (3,031,000), Togo (2,601,000), Gabon (1,533,000) and the Central African Republic (213,000).

The fixed-line customer base has 355,000 subscribers, spread over Mali (188,000), Burkina Faso (76,000), Mauritania (57,000), and Gabon (34,000), while the fixed-line broadband customer base amounted to 147,000, according to the same source.
