A public prosecutor’s office in the South of Morocco placed under custody three people involved in the case of the video showing an election candidate distributing money to a group of people.
According to a press release from the King’s Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance in Guelmim, upon completion of the investigation, legal action will be given in the light of its findings, in full compliance with the law in force.
In a previous statement, the prosecution announced that it had launched an investigation following the publication on social networks on Friday of a video showing a candidate for election days distributing banknotes to a group of people.
“Following the publication on social networks, on Friday, August 6, 2021, of a video showing a candidate for electoral elections distributing banknotes to a group of people, the Parquet of Guelmim has, as soon as he learned of the existence of this sequence, ordered an investigation to be carried out by the judicial police, ”said the public prosecutor at the court of first instance in Guelmim, in the press release.
