Morocco’s men’s futsal team qualified for the semifinals of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games after thrashing the Solomon Islands 15-1 on Saturday in Dakar, in a group-stage match, thanks in particular to a five-goal haul by Hamza El Ahmadi.

Morocco’s 15 goals were scored by Hamza El Ahmadi (5), Mohammed Karouk El Bahi (3), Alae Aït Challa (3), Brahim Houdane (2), Zakariya Sarghine (1) and Mohammed Serrar (1).

The young Moroccan players opened the scoring in the third minute through Hamza El Ahmadi (2:47), before extending their lead through Mohammed Serrar (4:25), Zakariya Sarghine (8:27), Alae Aït Challa (12:39) and El Ahmadi again (18:07), taking the score to 5-0 at half-time.

After the break, El Ahmadi continued his scoring spree, netting three more goals (20:27, 21:19 and 22:24) to give Morocco an 8-0 lead.

The Solomon Islands pulled one back through Jerom Billy (25:14), before the Moroccan side resumed their attacking display.

Alae Aït Challa (26:26 and 35:40), Brahim Houdane (26:58 and 28:35) and Mohammed Karouk El Bahi (28:00, 34:56 and 39:46) completed Morocco’s scoring spree.

This was Morocco’s second win in Group B, following their 6-3 victory over Paraguay on Wednesday and their 1-4 defeat to Portugal on Monday.

With six points from three matches, the Moroccan team thus secured their place in the semifinals of the men’s futsal tournament, in which the top two teams from each group advance to the last four.
