Morocco’s national police and domestic intelligence chief, Abdellatif Hammouchi, visited a police officer hospitalized in Agadir on Wednesday after he sustained serious injuries and multiple fractures in a deliberate vehicle attack while on duty.
Hammouchi visited the officer at Mohammed VI University Hospital, where he reviewed his medical condition and response to treatment.
He praised the officer’s professionalism and commitment to duty, reaffirming the General Directorate of National Security’s (DGSN) responsibility to protect its personnel against attacks committed during their work.
Before the visit, Hammouchi had ordered an exceptional promotion for the injured officer and instructed police health and social services to cover all medical and hospitalization expenses.
He also dispatched a delegation comprising senior police officials, including the Agadir police prefect and representatives of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Police Social Works, to provide additional assistance.
Three suspects have been placed in pretrial detention in connection with the attack, including the alleged driver, who faces attempted premeditated murder charges.
