Travel from Morocco to Europe is projected to increase by 60% by 2036, placing the kingdom among the continent’s ten leading non-European source markets, according to a new tourism outlook published by hotel group Accor.

The study forecasts a 42% increase in international overnight stays across Europe between 2026 and 2036, alongside a 64% rise in foreign visitor spending to more than €1.3 trillion.

Morocco features prominently in Accor’s projections for Spain, where travel from the kingdom could increase by 93%, supported by new air connections linking Casablanca, Tetouan and Tangier with Spanish destinations ahead of the 2030 World Cup.

The figures concern Moroccan travelers visiting Europe, rather than foreign tourists arriving in Morocco.

Morocco’s tourism sector recorded 19.8 million visitors and MAD 138 billion in receipts in 2025. By September 2026, arrivals had reached 15.7 million, up 5% year on year.

Accor expects business travel to Europe to grow 50% over the coming decade, outpacing leisure travel at 39%.
