Global sales of Moroccan-style lanterns reached an estimated $514.16 million in 2025 and could rise to $879.38 million by 2034, according to a market forecast distributed by Japan’s Global Information.
The figures describe worldwide sales of products marketed as Moroccan lanterns, not the size of Morocco’s domestic manufacturing industry. The underlying report was produced by Fortune Business Insights.
The market is projected to grow by an average 6.28% annually between 2026 and 2034, driven by spending on home decoration, outdoor entertaining and Moroccan- or Mediterranean-themed hotels and restaurants.
Europe generated 31.15% of global revenue in 2025, the largest regional share. Hanging lanterns accounted for 43.7% of sales, while electric and LED models represented 49.01%.
The report said intricate metalwork and colored glass supported demand for Moroccan designs. Fragile glass panels, rust, fading and maintenance requirements could constrain purchases over the next eight years, particularly for products used or transported outdoors.
